What the hell is going on this fine weekend? It seems like Microsoft has opened its carotid artery and is leaking vital information blood. Rumors are running rampant and other really radical words that start with “r.” Now we’re getting info about Lips, which is Microsoft’s answer to SingStar. I have a feeling that’s like saying Scene It is Microsoft’s answer to Buzz!.

Lips is rumored to contain 30 songs, 2 wireless microphones and the ability to use your own music or downloaded songs from an online service. In addition there are the odd lights on the shaft of the microphone that “pulse to the rhythm of [the player’s] voice.” Just what every 360 fan wants: a pulsing shaft.

A download service that would charge a nominal fee for each song is also amidst the Lips rumors. And let’s not forget – all ye who don’t believe this could be true for whatever odd reason – that Microsoft is the same company that hasn’t kept a secret in about two years. We’ll probably know about the next Xbox before any developer has even been offered an alpha version of the dev kit.
