It's no surprise that Ubisoft plans to make more Tom Clancy games in the future. But could a new Ghost Recon and a new Rainbow Six arrive in stores by the end of this year? Well, an anonymous source says so, so it's gotta be true!
An unnamed tipster told CVG that both games will be announced later this year and that there's a chance they could arrive by next holiday season. It feels like Ubisoft would be stepping on its own toes by releasing two military shooters in the same general time period. It could be that one will arrive by the end of 2009 and that the other might slip to 2010.
In fact, who even knows if it's two different games? While we're engaging in rumor-mongering, how about this: maybe Ubisoft will be making an official announcement of the Tom Clancy MMO mentioned by CEO Yves Guillemot last year? Seeing as both Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon are tactical shooters, it's not inconceivable that both series could be brought together in such a game.
