Some rumors get legs not because there's a lot of evidence but because people just want it to be true very badly. This is one such example.

French site StarWars-Universe (via Massively) is reporting that BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will launch in October 2010. StarWars-Universe claims they were told this information by a reliable source within LucasArts, the game's publisher. There's been no official denial/confirmation by BioWare or LucasArts.

Getting this game in just fourteen months would be nice. However, when a release date is that far away, it's likely to change. BioWare probably won't know how close the game is to completion before they open it to beta testers.
