S.T.A.L.K.E.R Aftermath And Survival The long awaited (and not quite highly anticipated) first-person shooter, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., is nearing completion and poised for an early first quarter release in 2007. This PC science fiction tale will take players on an unthinkable journey through the nuclear aftermath in the Shadow of Chernobyl.

In the year 2008, after a fictional second nuclear test has gone awry at Chernobyl a plague of mutant freaks storm the area in result of all the radiation. As of course, the game initiates the vague plot instrument of valuable artifacts being hidden in the radiation zone, along with the freaks. The only souls brave enough to traverse beyond the safety zone are stalkers. Guess who you get to play? Yep, that pathetic soul who didn’t want to work at McDonalds, but instead became a stalker for higher risk and an even higher reward.

The game will feature intense horror-survival elements, as the escapees from the Hill Have Eyes will surely want to poke your eyes out and eat your liver for brunch. But there’s no need to feel like a cliched hapless horror movie victim. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will feature a bevy selection of weapons and armory for players to dispose of their enemies with. But that’s not the bread and butter behind this game. It’s the A-Life Engine and it’s fascinating next-gen A.I. routines. The engine allows for up to 1000 non-player characters to freely interact, scavenge, hunt, trade, and even fight independently of any player interaction. It’s been the driving force behind the innovation of THQ’s and GSC Game World’s ambitious project. You can check out some footage of the game below.
