SOCOM 4 Delayed To 2011

SOCOM 4 will not be launching alongside PlayStation Move this fall. Developer Zipper Interactive confirmed today that the game has been pushed back into 2011.

"While we're certainly aware that you've been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don't want to take any shortcuts," said community manager Jeremy Dunham on the SOCOM blog. "Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we're going to use our extra time to do just that."

They didn't narrow down the release date any further, unfortunately. The other upcoming first-party shooter with Move support, Killzone 3, is coming in February 2011 so perhaps Sony will move SOCOM 4 later into the year so the games aren't directly competing.
