Saboteur Video Tours Black And White Paris

We've seen plenty of screenshots from World War II sandbox action game Saboteur but video footage has been hard to come by. The latest episode of GameTrailers TV filled the void with a video touring the setting of Paris.

You may have wondered why some screenshots are in black and white while others are in full color. Lead designer Tom French explains this in the video. Main character Sean Devlin is waging a secret war against the Nazi occupiers of Paris and his efforts will, over time, inspire the local populace to take up arms as well. The sections of the city where the Nazis have a strong presence, the environment is black and white (with colored highlights) but when Sean weakens them through sabotage and assassination, the area will become full color. It's kind of like Pleasantville except you're killing Nazis.

Saboteur will arrive on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in late 2009 or early 2010. It was originally slated for an early 2009 release but was delayed in November.
