A new Tetris clone called Scrap!, by Splitcode Games, has just been released for iPhones and the iPod Touch. The game supposedly puts a true spin on the quarter-century old puzzle game. So how does it work and what makes it so special?

“Every puzzle game can become boring after the first couple of plays,” says Jeremy, Lead Designer for Splitcode. “People want something that can challenge their intellect as well as their hand-eye coordination! The goal for SCRAP!’s design, was to create a puzzle game that was as challenging as it is addictive”.

The game takes place on a puzzle board that has players stacking blocks on a rotational field. Randomly the field will rotate, forcing players to build (or stack) on a different side. Still confused? Well, Splitcode imagined something like this might happen, which is why they released a trial demo to tantalize the curiosity of iPod Touch/iPhone gamers.
