Some of the big news surrounding Section 8 last year was its lack of a PS3 appearance during the time of its promotion leading up to its release in 2009. Instead, the game was completely absent from any PS3 listings -- despite the game originally being announced as a multiplatform title -- whenever SouthPeak sent over assets. Well, the time has come and SouthPeak is finally re-acknowledging Section 8 for the PS3 with a brand new debut trailer.

The new debut trailer is entirely filled to the brim with non-stop shooting action. There’s also a few explosions for 80’s movie aficionados. The game still looks about the same as its Xbox 360 counterpart and for as far as the trailer goes nothing seems to have changed much in the transition.

Update: TimeGate and SouthPeak representatives have confirmed that TimeGate is self-publishing the title for the PS3 and not SouthPeak. According to TimeGate...

"Wanted to let you know that SouthPeak has nothing to do with the PS3 version of the game. TimeGate is self-publishing the title, actually."

No doubt this is in result of the royalty fiasco involving TimeGate and SouthPeak (via JoyStiq). That's not to mention the unflattering rumors about lacking finances to complete the PS3 version of Section 8.
