Hype Seth Green And The Arbiter Lend Their Talent To Mass Effect on N4G
Seth Green And The Arbiter Lend Their Talent To Mass Effect Let’s get this straight, I’m happy that Seth Green is going to lend his voice to Mass Effect. He’s one of those actors that even if you don’t think about it consciously, you’re drawn to his work. Perhaps it’s because he chooses good material most of the time. Or that he appears to be a genuinely funny and cool guy. Whatever it is about Green, he’s a welcome addition to Mass Effect. I do have to wonder how many of you care though. There are only a handful of people I know who would say, as part of casual conversation, “I roll up on that shorty be like, ‘What's up yo?’ she be like, ‘You don't know 20 different ways to make me call you Big Poppa’ cuz I don't yo.” If you know the proper answer, you win the grand prize.

As for what we’ll be hearing, considering Seth’s work as Chris on Family Guy, there’s no guarantee we’ll recognize him. But his role as "Joker," while heavily sarcastic, has his distinct sound. Anyone smart enough to keep up with Robot Chicken on the Cartoon Network is aware of the voice talent the guy has. So while some big name announcements for voice casting are mainly pure “star power,” this one is at least voice talent driven. Other than a few big time roles Green is that actor who you know when you see him, but the mass audience probably couldn’t pick his name out of thin air. Which is a shame, because it means they don’t watch enough Buffy.

So there it is, Seth Green is lending his considerable talent to Mass Effect. It’s just…well, the game already looks amazing. A Shepard could use ASL the entire game and it could still be good. But I like Seth Green, and I share the news with the multitudes happily.

Seth isn’t the only guy in Mass Effect you should recognize. Chief among the other actors, at least for gamers, is Keith David. David has a deep resonant voice that made him the perfect choice for the Arbiter in Halo, and that voice translates well to his new role in Mass Effect.

Mass Effect is scheduled to release on November 20th exclusively for the Xbox 360. Below is some behind the scenes video of Seth Green working on the game, as well as a featurette of the other voice actors featured in the game.
