Klei Entertainment announced today that the highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit from 2010 will be released on February 7th in North America and will arrive in Europe just a day later on February 8th.
As stated in the press release on Business Wire...
Set in a pulp fiction world, Shank 2 puts players back in control of their favorite ex-mobster hitman, Shank. Klei has evolved the combat experience with precise controls, new weapons, smarter enemies, and more advanced combo techniques, all set to the backdrop of beautiful 2D art and animation. Players can put Shank’s trusty arsenal of handguns, chainsaws, grenades, plus all-new weapons to use in order to protect those close to him.
Shank 2 will feature more robust moves and challenges in the cooperative mode as well, giving a player and his best buddy the opportunity to unleash some wicked vengeance on some more-than-suspecting baddies.
The game's art and animations have also been improved, with smoother combos, more combos, cooler fatalities and more ways to rip, shred and shank your opponents to death.
I've always liked games like this and I'm glad EA kept Klei around to produce a sequel to Shank. Let's just hope they don't milk them the way they're doing BioWare or force Origin down our throats with Shank 2.
You can pick up a copy of the game next month for only $9.99 or 800 MS points. For more information on the game feel free to pay a visit to the Official Website.
