The closed-beta for Aeria Games upcoming MMORPG, Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online, has gone over quite well. The successful closed-testing was so popular, in fact, the open-beta has been left completely open to the public with no price-tag or subscription fee in sight.
This MMO is set within the Shin Megami universe, offering players unprecedented interaction with characters ranging from 20 years of this strange but popular franchise. Whether it was from the Digital Devil Saga or the Persona series, there's a lot of lore from the world of Shin Megami Tensei that's available for players to explore.
Some of the features for Imagine Online include a real-time active battle system, character customization (as if any recent MMO would be allowed to get away with not including a create-a-character), Tokyo inspired fashion and clothing (both modern and traditional), and the whole demon manipulation/fusing process that the series has become known for.
I think the thing that really makes this stand out among MMOs is the inclusion of a social integration filter. That's right, just like a bad on-line dating service there's an option to filter out who you do and do not want to contact, chat or party with. Great way to keep losers with losers.
