Today Stardock unveiled the first two screenshots of Diplomacy, the second micro-expansion to 4X strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire. If you think interfaces look sexy, these shall surely light your furnace.
Diplomacy enhances the - wait for it - diplomatic aspects of the game. The first screenshot appears to be the new "Faction Status" screen, which allows you to quickly check how in-game factions feel about each other. The expansion allows you to establish trade pacts with other factions as well as send them missions to complete.
The second screenshot looks like the new Diplomacy research tree. It's said to contain 30+ technologies for you to research. The particular technology being looked at by the player in this shot is called "Universal Negotiation." It allows you to offer and demand gifts from opposing factions.
Diplomacy is expected to be released digitally on February 9th, 2010 for $10. You'll have to have Sins of a Solar Empire and previous micro-expansion Entrenchment installed in order to play it. This is the final planned micro-expansion to Sins. Developer Ironclad Games may create a full-fledged retail expansion for the game next.
