Skylanders Cloud Patrol Takes A Tour Of Duty On Kindle Fire
That's a pretty nice Kindle Fire you've got there. You know what would make it even better? A spin-off to one of the most successful games in recent memory, of course. Luckily for you, Activision Publishing has announced that their hit iDevice game, Skylanders Cloud Patrol, will be heading to the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD.
Spyro the dragon and his bestest buddies are on a mission to overthrow the troll hordes. You can now join in on the action no matter where you are with that fancy Kindle e-reader thingamajig you've got there, offering touch and swipe controls to blast Kaos' minions out of the clouds.
The Kindle Fire edition also sports a nifty in-app feature that will let you purchase action figures for the console Skylanders game. Doing so will automatically unlock the character in your Cloud Patrol game while the actual figure is being mailed to your home. Any figures you already own can also be unlocked in the Cloud Patrol game.
Skylanders Cloud Patrol will be $0.99 when it releases later this fall. There are 30-plus Skylanders available to unlock in the game, each with their own special abilities.
“Including accessory packs and figures, Skylanders was the number one best-selling console and handheld game overall in dollars for the first six months of 2012 in the U.S. and Europe and has quickly become a phenomenon across all gaming platforms,” said Activision consumer marketing VP John Coyne. “We are thrilled to team up with Amazon to now bring the franchise to millions of Kindle Fire users.”
