A pair of new games from Midnight City have popped up on Steam today, both arriving on the virtual market just in time for Halloween. Whether you're running for your life in Slender: The Arrival or battling evil in 2D platformer Blood of the Werewolf, it looks like plenty of tricks and treats are in store for anyone in the market for some All Hallows gaming goodness.

First up, lets take a look at Slender: The Arrival, which currently boasts a 20 percent discount via Steam. Actually, given the subject matter, perhaps “taking a look” isn't such a good idea, as looking at the Slender Man for too long will result in you forfeiting your sanity. Then again, if you're not looking at the Slender Man, that means he can just creep up even closer, lurking just beyond your periphery, waiting for you to finally glance in the direction in his blank, haunting face.

Developed by Blue Island Studios, Slender: The Arrival is the “only official Slender Man game,” according to the press release, and now its available for $7.99 through steam until Nov. 4. For those who played the original version of Slender, this latest offering includes more content, better visuals, a new “creature to contend with” and all of the expected Steam bells and whistles.

“In Slender: The Arrival, players step into the shoes of Laura, an unwitting pawn in Slender Man's game of life and death,” reads a statement from Midnight City. “Upon discovering her friend Kate's home ransacked, Laura uncovers clues and items while in search of her longtime friend.”

Things only go downhill for Laura from there, as she eventually starts to hear voices, discover cryptic messages and catch glimpses of a tall, lanky, terrifying figure hidden at the edge of the surrounding shadows. And the best part? Slender: The Arrival features Oculus Rift support. Not that many folks actually have the VR rig at this time, but this is certainly one game that such a device was made for, as the original game already had me screaming like a tiny child, and that was a more antiquated version of the game that wasn't strapped to my face at the time.

And then there's Blood of the Werewolf, also from Midnight City, also launching on Steam today, and also available for a discounted $7.99 through Nov. 4. Midnight City describes this one as a “love letter to classic platformers,” including brutal difficulty in Metroidvania-style environment.

“Players are put through their pace in 15 levels of finger-crunching, edge of your seat action with five intense boss battle arenas,” reads the press release. “Blood of the Werewolf straddles the line between challenging and rewarding with features like level checkpoints, autosave and super-fast respawns to keep gameplay engaging and fun.”

And did we mention that, along with the titular werewolf, other horror movie greats like Dracula, the Mummy and Frankenstein's monster will be making an appearance.

So, there you have it. Two spooktacular games, just in time for Halloween. For more details, you can read up on both Blood of the Werewolf and Slender: The Arrival, two of the first game's to arrive from Midnight City.
