I didn’t know you could get milk from hedgehogs, but Sega seems to have proven that you can milk a hedgehog for millions. The latest Sonic game is called Sonic Colors and it features Sonic racing through theme-park inspired levels as he seeks to save a race from the clutches of the evil Dr. Eggman.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the premise of this game sound like an episode from the Saturday morning cartoon? Anyway, Sonic has to visit a floating theme park in order to save the colorful race called the Wisps, as it’s feared they’re being held captive against their will. Of course, speed-based adventuring ensues.

Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing, SEGA commented in the press release, saying…
“In Sonic Colors, players run at supersonic speed through incredible looking planets each with their own unique visual style.” … “In addition to the classic Sonic gameplay style, the colorful new Wisp power-ups offer a fresh new way of exploring these worlds and helps make Sonic faster than ever before!”

So it’s Sonic in a Saturday morning cartoon themed game with power-ups equivalent to Super Mario Galaxy? Well, I don’t think you can go wrong with that combination.

You can look for Sonic Colors to land on the Wii and DS during the holiday season of 2010. For more info be sure to visit the Official Sega Website.
