GAMING BLEND
Soul Calibur V New Behind-The-Scenes Video Is AwkwardAuthor: William Usher

Usually publishers want development teams to pimp their game with dev docs and diaries that give gamers an idea of the time and effort being put into an upcoming title; the publishers want the devs to say stuff like “It’s the greatest thing your eyes will ever see” or “Your butt will sweat because you won’t ever want to leave the chair”. However, with the new behind-the-scenes video for Soul Calibur V, developers Project Soul comes across like their privacy is being invaded and as if everyone watching is a skanky perv. Yeah, it's awkward.
Due to the almost unwelcoming nature of the camera crew in the studios where Sould Calibur V is being designed, viewers may get the impression that they are being unwelcomed by the team, too. The added apprehensive behavior by some of the team members will also make you question if maybe a drug smuggling side-business might be taking place in the office with all the side glares and tight-lipped comments from the team. Nevertheless, Soul Calibur V is looking quite snazzy…from the little that’s shown off anyway. Unfortunately not much is talked about in terms of innovation or newness, but Project Soul does confirm some new fighters will be joining a few of the old cast members for an epic showdown, and after disbanding the team specifically came back together to make one last super Soul Calibur game. Perhaps, having separated and come back together was the cause for all the awkwardness shown off in the behind-the-scenes video? Who knows? You can check out the new vid below or head on over to the Official Website to stay up-to-date on all things Soul Calibur. The new game is slated for a 2012 release on the Xbox 360 and PS3. |
