Everyone who loves playing with friends loves a good co-op mode. And with that in mind, Backbone Entertainment has had some recent discussions on how the new multiplayer modes have been integrated into the retro-remake of a beloved gaming classic.
Backbone Entertainment’s Senior Artist, Arvin Bautista, sat down with Co-Optimus to talk cooperative gaming for an age-old game that’s being re-released with some extreme new features for Xbox Live Arcade. The interview covers a wide range of topics but centers nicely on how the cooperative modes will work online and offline. There will be two modes of play for multiple players, including Arcade and Endless Mode. The latter is like survival mode, where players vie for the highest score while battling through endless waves of enemies. And just so you all know, the game sports anywhere between 2 and 4 simultaneous players that will share the screen and blast through some tricked-out levels. The game will also feature some revamped music and amped-up special effects that will actually synchronize with controller vibrations. Nice. The entire interview is a great read and well worth it for anyone who has even the slightest interest in this game. So here’s the part where you can Click On This Link to check out the entire Co-Optimus article. That’s not all folks. Just to give you a heads-up, we’ll be hosting a contest for Space Invaders Extreme and giving away free download codes for the game.
