The video game world is about to be invaded by Space Nazis - no, not Helghast. We're talking about actual Nazis, here. Blind Spot Pictures announced today that their upcoming film Iron Sky, a dark comedy about Nazis from the dark side of the Moon, will become a video game.

“[The] Iron Sky teaser created a tsunami of interest towards the film and it has been viewed over 2 million times on the internet," said producer Tero Kaukomaa. "We were looking for a partner to develop the game and are very happy to have IGIOS and LudoCraft on board. We are confident our new game developer partners can create a unique and high quality game that satisfies the needs of both casual and hardcore gamers."

The game is a prequel to the film and will be released in 2011 before Iron Sky's theatrical premiere. It'll be released on several gaming platforms simultaneously but it's not clear what the game will actually be like. I'm sure they'll figure out something fun to do with a moon full of a Nazis, though.
