The Ubisoft developers offer up an extended look at the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction and some of its gameplay features. It would have been nice if these trailers were released just a bit earlier as it would have made a world of difference in our Uncharted 2: Among Thieves vs Splinter Cell: Conviction series. Nevertheless, the new video trailer is simply astounding and the gameplay in the new Splinter Cell is so seamless it almost doesn’t even appear to be a game.

In the following developer diary we get to see Sam Fisher in the role he was always meant to be…Jack Bauer. Oops, I mean, a kick-butt splinter cell. Anyway, in the following video we get to see a mix of Sam’s new abilities: Last Known Position and Mark and Execute. And while I’m no big fan of automated targeting, I must admit that the team pulled off a huge feat making the new firefights an amazing cinematic spectacle in this game…very impressive. Also, Sam’s Robocop-esque shooting skills look pretty cool.
