Spooky Game Soundtrack Bundle Drops Next Week
If you're trying to celebrate Halloween without rocking some spine-tingling music, well, you're doing it wrong. Thankfully, gamers don't have to settle for Monster Mash when it comes to creepy holiday tunage. There are plenty of eerie game soundtracks out there and, starting next week, you can swipe a whole bunch of them for as little as $1.
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. To get in the mood each year, I like to marathon horror flicks, play favorite survival/horror games like Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame and, in recent years, keep Pandora cranked to the Halloween station.
While there are plenty of scary movies, shows and video games, there's just isn't an embarrassment of ready-made Halloween music floating around out there. That is, of course, unless you count the awesome soundtracks to all of those games featuring hulking monstrosities, knife-wielding maniacs and all manor of creepy critters that go bump in the night.
Just in time for the holiday season, a Game Music Bundle will be going live next week, offering a ridiculously low starting price for more than a dozen horror games. Okay, some of these games aren't strictly “horror,” but they're all crammed with the right kind of atmosphere and, more importantly, music to set the soundtrack for anyone's Halloween festivities.
“Game Music Bundle is launching a monstrous bundle of terror-inducing game soundtracks that make an easy playlist for entertaining Halloween party-goers or scaring young trick-or-treaters,” reads a statement from the website.
It's called the “Game Music Bundle...Of the Damned,” and it offers up five initial soundtracks for as low as $1. Set to go live on Oct. 22, all you have to do is mosey on over to the official website, plop down your money and start enjoying your new music.
As is customary with these types of bundles, being willing to pay a little bit extra means you'll get even more music. While the starting tier is $1 for five soundtracks, paying up to $10 will get you the full crop of 14 available soundtracks. There are also additional perks for those who wish to pay a bit more.
“Top contributors, showcased on a leader board, will be awarded special physical items including video games, signed sheet music, and spooky care packages lovingly assembled by the Game Music Bundle team and promptly delivered by their diligent horde of goblins,” continues the press release.
As for what soundtracks are available in the bundle, here's the full list: Alice: Madness Returns, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Bloodrayne: Betrayal, Home, Dead Space, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Limbo, Survaillant, Organ Trail, The Horror at MS Aurora, Penumbra, Plants Vs. Zombies and Year Walk.
