Square Enix and Valve announced today that the PC port of action RPG The Last Remnant will come to North America via Steam. It marks the beginning of the partnership that will see other Square Enix titles arrive on the digital distribution network in the future.

Last Remnant will be available through Steam on April 9th. This seems to be the first time a North American release date has been confirmed for the PC version of the game. As the press release is centered on the Steam agreement, there's no mention of whether Square will be releasing boxed copies of the game in North America as well or if it will stay exclusively digital.

No mention of what other Square Enix games will be added to the service or when. The Last Remnant was previously released for the Xbox 360 on November 20th, 2008.
