A sequel to Gas Powered Games' award-winning real-time strategy game Supreme Commander and guess who's the publisher? Okay, the headline gave it away, but we'll tell you again anyway: Final Fantasy creators Square Enix.
It's a pretty big move for Square Enix. They're known primarily for their role-playing games and this might in fact be the first RTS they've ever been involved with. Furthermore, they're based in Japan and mostly work with Eastern companies so it's a switch for them to be partnering with an American company for a game aimed at Western audiences.
Gameplay details, platforms, and release date for Supreme Commander 2 will be revealed at a later date. We're pretty sure it's just called Supreme Commander 2, though - so at least we've got that bit of info nailed down.
