Star Ocean Screenshots Square Enix Doesn’t Want You To SeeAuthor: William Usher

I had to look over my shoulder and peek through the doorways before posting up these screenshots. After Square pulled that stunt with the trailer here on Blend Games, one has to be awfully careful about posting up assets…even if they are for public viewing. Nevertheless, you can view these screenshots at your own risk.
Actually, the screenshots really are for public viewing and (for as far as we know) Square Enix does want you to see them. But for those of you who may still be baffled about the headline, just know that Square Enix has some of the worse publicists in the history of the gaming industry. If there was an embargo on assets, it would have been nice of them to let everyone know that there was one in the first place, instead of passing out legal threats. Anyway, the new screenshots for Star Ocean actually don’t look that bad…being that it’s on the 360 and all. In all honesty, this is probably one of the best looking Xbox 360 games coming to the market. The developers successfully implemented character lighting without that slimy looking goop most 360 games seem to carry. Impressive…that’s very impressive. In fact, I’m going to go one step further and say that Star Ocean: The Last Hope almost looks like a PlayStation 3 game. You can check out the screenshots below, and be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games for more updates and news on all things gaming. That’s assuming, of course, Square doesn’t give us anymore troubles over doing our jobs. |
