Star Trek Game Trailer Shows Off Spock's Fancy New Moves
Namco Bandai released a new trailer for Digital Extremes' upcoming Star Trek game at this year's GamesCom convention. The trailer features both Kirk and Spock engaged in some intense third-person combat, facing off against likely and unlikely foes as well as Spock putting some mean Vulcan moves to use on unsuspecting baddies.
We haven't heard a whole lot about this Star Trek game since its announcement earlier this year, and the only thing we know about it is that it's a movie tie-in to the movie that will be launching in the early half of 2013. Quite conveniently, the game's release is scheduled around the same time as the movie.
The upside is that the game looks pretty good to be a movie tie-in (but isn't that how they all look from the game trailers?) and you can check out the latest trailer for the game in action from GamesCom 2012, below.
It looks like a mix between Dead Space, Mass Effect and a little bit of Gears of War. There definitely seems to be tons of strong cinematic elements tossed in that wasn't entirely present in the trailers before. Then again, all the previous trailers were quick-snippets and teasers so it was hard to gauge any aspect of the game from that footage.
Star Trek is set for release in early 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. You can learn more about the game or keep track of what's going on in the development by visiting the Official Website.
