Star Wars 1313 Developer Diary Discusses Coruscant's Underworld
With Star Wars 1313, LucasArts is hoping to tell a darker, grittier story than Star Wars fans are used to. A key component of this story is the setting, a wretched hive of villainy below the surface of Coruscant.
Coruscant is the center of civilized space. The massive planet-wide city has layers upon layers of urban sprawl. The rule of thumb is that the further down you travel, the more dangerous the city is. The number "1313" refers to the fact that the game takes place on Level 1313 of the planet.
Level 1313 is no place for a Jedi. Fortunately, you're not a Jedi. Instead, players take on the role of a bounty hunter armed to the teeth. When you and your partner are attacked, you'll wade into the criminal underworld to investigate.
Lucas Arts first unveiled Star Wars 1313 during E3. They haven't announced a release date or platforms. The quality of the gameplay footage we've seen so far suggests it might be a next-gen title.
