Before Star Wars: The Old Republic launches, BioWare plans to fill out the setting of the game by releasing several tie-in products. Two novels and a short story are on the way.

Rob Chestney, the author of SW:TOR webcomic The Threat of Piece, will pen the short story. It will be posted "soon" on StarWars.com. Threat, meanwhile, will be turned into a 96-page paperback compilation and sold through stores starting in April.

In July, Del Rey Books will release Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, a novel by Sean Williams. A second novel, to be written by Star Wars: Crosscurrent author Paul Kemp, is said to be in its early planning stages.
