In 1701 A.D., players are tasked with colonizing the New World while keeping other countries at bay. To grow and maintain your empire, you'll have to master the arts of diplomacy, trade, and war. The game supports LAN and online play for up to four players in cooperative and competitive game modes.

The version sold through Steam is the "Gold" edition, meaning it includes 1701's The Sunken Dragon expansion. Dragon adds an 11-mission campaign as well as a map editor.
