SteelSeries Free Mobile Game Controller Coming This Fall

SteelSeries has announced a new way to game on your mobile device using a controller. The name of this new controller? It's called the Free Mobile Gaming Controller but it's not actually free, that's just part of its name. The mobile controller enables gamers to play on their favorite mobile devices without having to use those sometimes shoddy touchscreen controls.

SteelSeries announced a bevy line-up of new products at this year's GamesCom, in addition to their typical headset and earmuff selection, they also announced the new Free Mobile Game Controller, which carries the not-so-modest price of $79.99 and enables gamers to wirelessly play their mobile games using the controller.

The highlight of the device is that it's compatible with PCs, Macs, iPhones, Androids, iPads and tablet devices. The lithium battery enables up to 20 hours of “casual” gameplay and 10 straight hours of core gaming.

Now, the thing that I like most about this Free Mobile Game Controller is that it utilizes the SteelSeries Engine so you can modify your game controls for each mobile game or download profiles on the fly to increase compatibility for mobile games.

For PC and Mac users there's an option to customize the 12 buttons and what's more is that there's easy plug-and-play capabilities so that if the battery runs out while you're playing on your iPad or tablet device, you can hook it up to your PC and recharge the battery while you play on your PC. That's kind of rad, right?

My only question is how you play games on your iPhone using the controller if your hands are on the controller? Who's holding the iPhone?
