Today is the inauguration of a new American president and to honor the occasion, why not play a real-time strategy game set in eleventh century Europe? Alright, that might have been a bit of a stretch, but the point is, Stronghold is now available for purchase through Good Old Games.
For $5.99, you can buy a digital copy of the 2001 game through GOG.com. In Stronghold, players must build and manage their own medieval castle. In addition to creating an army with ten different soldiers and directing it in combat, you must also manage your keep's economy and balance your income with your peasants' happiness. Once you're done with the 21 missions in the single-player campaign, you can use the game's map editor to build your own challenges. As with all games on GOG.com, Stronghold is DRM-free and configured to work with both Windows XP and Vista. The game also comes with a digital instruction manual, Stronghold Excalibur mission pack, Super Castle Attack mini-game, and an MP3 soundtrack. |
