Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and BioShock 2 might be big names around the industry news circuits, but among teens and kids (both male and female) the games topping their holiday wishlist include Wii Sports: Resort and Guitar Hero 5.
According to the survey conducted by video game retailer, Game Crazy, 86 percent out of the 1,000 teens and tweens surveyed admitted that they would ask for at least one game this holiday season. At the top of the list for all ages and gender was Guitar Hero 5, followed closely by Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. and Mario & Sonic At The Olypmic Winter Games.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still snuck onto the list as a favorite-pick among some males between 11 and 17 years of age, along with the expensive add-on pack known as Halo 3: ODST.
According to Patricia Vance, president of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), she commented in the press release, saying…
“As Game Crazy's survey indicates, it’s not unusual for younger kids to want to play what the older kids are playing. Parents need to understand that not all video games are intended for younger players,” …“The ESRB ratings provide guidance about content and age-appropriateness so parents can make sure the games their kids play are suitable for their age.”
