In what will certainly be the standard from now on, the once Sony exclusive Tekken franchise will be heading to Microsoft's console side by side with the PS3 release. Third party developers have all but abandoned the idea of console exclusives - with Capcom explicitly declaring the practice dead - opting to instead sell exclusive DLC to the highest bidder.
While fanboys everywhere are surely burning up message boards at this very moment bickering over whether or not this signals the death of the PS3, ultimately, all this means is that developers are having to subsidize increasing costs by making their software available to as many people as possible. Even giants like Microsoft and Sony won't always be able to pay enough to make it worthwhile to deny potential customers access, and in case you haven't heard, times have been a bit tough financially for just about everyone.
While Tekken project director Katsuhiro Harada does mention that porting the title to the 360 was "quite difficult" due to capacity deficits in DVD and the lack of built-in hard drive but he's "sure we can do it."
News will probably come of special characters or other console specific features but nothing has been announced just yet.
