TGS 2009: Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker Nine-Minute Trailer ReleasedAuthor: William Usher

Nine whole minutes of MGS: Peacewalker, that’s what gamers will get in Konami’s newly released video of the highly anticipated PSP exclusive. The funny thing about it is that none of the footage is actual gameplay footage, but instead it’s mostly clips of various cinematics and they are very impressive.
The PSP is highly under-rated for its awesome hardware capabilities. The system, first and foremost, just runs circles around the DS when it comes to immersion and bringing a game to life for handheld gamers. With Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker it’s the same thing; gamers get an amazing experience of immersion with visuals and artistic overtones in an idealistic fight for peace. Now the nine minute trailer is kind of cool, and there are some very interesting scenes and story elements going on. My only problem with the trailer is that much like MGS4 it’s all about information-ideological overload. I can only briefly explain what the story is about and basically it includes launching a nuke to instigate fear in the world to mandate peace in Latin America (or a deterrent of war in Latin America). There’s more to it than that, but as I said, the trailer is all about info-overload…so you’ll have to see the entire thing to get a brief glimpse into what’s really going on. Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, featuring the original big-gun bad-arse, Big Boss, will be available exclusively on the PSP in 2010. For more info you can visit the Official Konami Website.
