The upcoming update for Team Fortress 2 will give Snipers an effective countermeasure for back-stabbing but don't feel sorry for Spies. They'll be getting some new gear soon, too.

The "Dead Ringer" watch allows you to feign death just like in the old Team Fortress Classic days. When hit by a non-lethal attack, the watch cloaks you for eight seconds and creates a hologram of your corpse. The "Cloak and Dagger" watch, meanwhile, regenerates power for your cloaking device when you stand still.

It's not clear whether these will be unlockable items or if they'll be made available to all players. If they're unlockable, that would mean that the Spy's getting new Achievements too. At any rate, the new watches should be available once the Sniper update goes live sometime next week. To commemorate the new Spy content, Valve has released a funny new "Meet the Spy" video.
