505 Games and Zorro Productions, Inc. announced The Destiny of Zorro today, a new action game for the Wii starring legendary swordsman Zorro. Better practice making Z's with your Wiimote.

"“505 Games is truly honored by the opportunity to bring an iconic hero like Zorro, that speaks to so many generations, to the Nintendo Wii in North America,” said 505 Games U.S. president Adam Kline. “For the first time ever, fans of Zorro will get to experience what it feels like to be the masked swordsman. They’ll be able whip and thrust their Wii remote, battling a variety of foes in non-stop action.”

The game is set in 1800's California and sees Zorro battling a rebel army and mob boss, among other enemies. The press releases notes that the game features daylight and nighttime scenes, which seems like an odd thing to brag about. It'll be released nationwide this spring. The game's official website is now live and has a gameplay trailer.
