After Monster Hunter Tri and Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wii owners were left with nothing more than the standard shovelware garbage that crowds up most of the system’s quarterly game releases. Well, a brand new IP is on the way called The Last Story from the makers of Final Fantasy and Lost Odyssey, and to say the least, it's a real game.

The Last Story isn’t just a real game for the Wii, it’s actually a huge evolutionary step in revolutionizing the RPG genre, much in the same way that The Last Remnant or Knights of the Old Republic revolutionized active-turn combat for console RPGs.

What’s more, though, is that Mistwalker Studio’s The Last Story doesn’t just have extremely original gameplay at its base but it’s a gorgeous looking title to be on the Wii. You might have to look twice to remind yourself that you’re not looking at an Xbox 360 game.
