GameTrailers always has up some interesting stuff. So with the embargo lifted on impressions and interviews for Funcom’s The Secret World, it means that the public can now get more insight into this astonishing and original MMORPG. You can check out the new video interview here, which goes over all the original aspects of the game and what Funcom hopes to achieve.

The Producer/Director for The Secret World, Ragnar Tornquist, was interviewed by GameTrailers at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo. He talked about the new setting for the game, which has nothing to do with medieval fantasy themes, anime-inspired characters or tiresome and worn-out Tolkien-wannabe aesthetics. Instead, The Secret World is all about modern-day tech, ancient magic and contemporary urban environments.

In a way, this is one of the few MMOGs out there that takes on the horror-survival elements with a little kick-butt panache. A lot of people are saying some good things about this game and rightfully so…on a concept level it’s aiming to do everything that hardcore console gamers might want from a persistent world MMORPG.
