Activision released a new behind-the-scenes trailer for the upcoming skateboarding game, Tony Hawk: RIDE. The trailer talks a little bit about how the new skateboard controller takes the direction of skateboarding games in a whole new direction and the video also discusses how this is probably the most realistic Tony Hawk game since the original.

At first, it’s easy to dismiss the new skateboard controller as a cheap gimmick…possibly even as a ploy to cash in on the current Wii-mote, motion-sensing craze. However, the skateboard controller actually looks pretty cool in action and allows players to spin, turn, kick flip and perform all sorts of actions.
