Activision unleashed the very first trailer for Tony Hawk SHRED, featuring realtime gameplay, tricks and the skateboard controller on display. The game actually doesn’t look half bad coming off the recent release of Tony Hawk’s Ride from last year.

The newest game is more of an arcade title similar to Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam for the Wii and PlayStation 2. The graphics, of course, are far better than the downhill racing game and actually seems to make fair use of the wireless skateboard controller.

For gamers who wanted to channel more of EA’s SSX Tricky it appears that SHRED seems to focus more on that gameplay genre of skateboarding/snowboarding. A good thing for teeny-bopper arcade fans, no doubt.
