Transformers: War For Cybertron Is An Origins Story

Activision announced that the story behind their upcoming non-movie based game, Transformers: War for Cybertron, is an origins story about the civil war that breaks out between the Decepticons and the Autobots. Seriously, why couldn’t Michael Bay have gone with this story concept?
Anyway, Rob Kostich, head of marketing, licensed products, Activision Publishing, commented in the press release, saying... “The game transports players to a living, metallic planet where they will battle as giant converting robots in single player, online co-op or head-to-head multiplayer matches that are fully immersive from start to finish.” Sounds like Activision is on the right track and has a good series of modes in place. If the gameplay is anything like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, only improved and paced better, it could be one of the most fun Transformers games ever made. It’s pretty awesome that the game allows players to play either as the Autobots or the Decepticons with two distinct story modes as well, showcasing the fall of Cybertron. All the Transformers are in their original Cybertronian designs, too, yet conveniently enough Optimus Prime is still a truck!
