On November 10th, when PS3/Xbox 360/PC owners get Modern Warfare 2, Wii owners will finally be able to play its predecessor, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Activision announced today that a Wii port of the 2007 shooter is in development.

The Wii port of COD4 will be called simply Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. No other details the game's features were revealed. The port will be handled by Call of Duty: World at War studio Treyarch. A Wii version of WaW was released simultaneously with other versions last fall.

Earlier this week Activision revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized, a complimentary game to Modern Warfare 2, was in development for the DS. They obviously see potential for the franchise on both the Wii and DS given their large user bases.
