Tron Evolution Dev Doc: The History Of Tron

Disney Interactive is jumping on the movie-to-game bandwagon for the upcoming Tron movie with TRON Evolution. The game features all the classic innovations that started with the 1982 movie featuring Jeff Bridges, and the developers wanted to capitalize on those innovations for the newer generation.

I haven’t seen the movie yet but the game makes me very leery. While the visuals have seen a darker overtone applied to them, it almost feels like the heavy hand of Hollywood commanding the aesthetics for both the game and the movie. In this way, personally, it all feels a little gimmicky in comparison to what the original achieved using breakthrough technology at the time.
