This morning Kalypso Media released the playable demo for island management sim Tropico 3. It can be downloaded through Kalypso's website.

The demo allows you to play the tutorial and the first two missions. In the first mission, you'll manage a fertile island that's caught the eye of an American fruit conglomerate. Things are a little less second in the second mission, in which you must start anew on a desolate island after being chased from your former regime by rebels.

Tropico 3's global release will occur on October 16th for the Xbox 360 and PC. The only exception to this date is Germany, who will get it on the PC on September 24th.
