This afternoon TopWare Interactive announced Two Worlds II: Castle Defense for the PC, Mac and iOS. Castle Defense is a standalone game that takes place between Two Worlds II and its predecessor.
In Castle Defense, players step into the role of Emperor Gandohar and his henchman Sordahon. You're tasked with defending ruins, forests, and catacombs against marauding orcs. The game sports a Campaign mode and an Arena mode, the latter designed for instant skirmishes.
You can deploy six types of combat units to defend your lair. These units each have their own set of unique abilities and can be upgraded over time. Gandohar and Sordahon have their own special powers as well.
There are dozens of types of enemies that you'll have to fend off. The game can handle up to 50 units on screen at the same time, leading to some fairly big battles. Smite these foes effectively and you'll climb the online leaderboards.
The PC and Mac versions of Castle Defense will hit retailers on May 17th. The iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch iteration will be released through the App Store on the same date.
