Ubisoft At E3: I Am Alive Debut Trailer It wasn’t all rehashing of old franchises this year at E3 for Ubisoft. The powerhouse developer announced they’re getting into the survival horror biz with I Am Alive, set to release in the spring of 2009. We don’t have much information on the game except that it takes place in Chicago after the city is left in ruins. The main character has to survive in that environment.

I Am Alive will have players interacting with their environment and other characters in some unspecified way. I’d like to know what that is, because that description is absurdly vague. OK, so do I push crowds around like in Assassin’s Creed or is this something new and different? No one knows. But the trailer for the game was intriguing, while being similarly vague on game details.

It’s too early to tell if this will be a contender with Resident Evil 5, or even something wonderful and new like Dead Rising. Then again Dead Rising was a highly overrated game with some interesting concepts. “The game will offer a rich palette of emotions while challenging players to make life-changing decisions,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
