SEGA’s new futuristic RTS, Universe at War: Earth Assault, is almost ready for you to play. But before you do we thought we’d let you know a bit about the game. We do this because we like you, and also because we have new screenshots to share.

Earth Assault is an online RTS that creates a persistent world that allows players to enter online “campaigns.” Rather than one-off battles, developer Petroglyph has implemented elements from MMO’s. This means you’ll be able to take a more intimate tactical approach to a global situation, giving you a feeling of finer control. Players will also be able to perform customizations as needed, so if you come up against an enemy you were unprepared for it’s not an instant win for them.

With diverse factions to choose from, and a ginormous scale, Universe at War: Earth Assault should satiate most fans’ desire for RTS glory. Check out the screenshots in the gallery below.
