Valve Peels The Orange Box, Slices Sold Separately

After selling tons of content in their Orange Box compilation, Valve is splitting the titles up to be sold separately. Team Fortress 2, Portal, and the Half-Life 2 episodes will be available for individual purchase on April 9.

Here’s how the pricing is going to work out: Portal will run you $20, while Team Fortress 2 and the Half-Life 2 episode pack (which contains episodes one and two) will cost $30 each. These aren’t exactly bargain prices, in fact you can probably find the whole bundle on a used copy of the Orange Box for under $30. Still, if you just can’t get around the hideous box art collage on the Orange Box or you just really want to own Portal alone (the four of you out there that haven’t played it yet), this is the only way to do it.

Or there's Steam. Wait, why are you buying these games separately and falling for EA's money making scheme?
