Valve Still Likes L4D2 Haters; Announces Support For L4DAuthor: William Usher

Valve appears to be practicing the “turn the other cheek” aphorism with their latest announcement: They will yield to the protesters and continue to support Left 4 Dead long after L4D2 comes out.
According to Electronic Theatre, Valve recently announced that they will, in fact, continue support for the beloved and now controversial Left 4 Dead. The article on ET states that, “At a press event for Left 4 Dead 2 in London last week, it was confirmed that new DLC is planned for the first game, and exactly what this will contain will be announced in the near future. It has been remarked, however, that new additions will arrive alongside other enhancements, such as the promised team-based matchmaking update.” This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who followed the ridiculous and completely unnecessary engine of controversy known as the L4D2 Boycott Group. Blend Games’ correspondent Ryan Rigney even tried delving into the concepts behind the boycott and exposing it as frivolous and wasted effort. However, the boycott group was not very accommodating to that kind of reasoning. Nevertheless, everyone seems to win with Valve announcing their continued support for the original Left 4 Dead while keeping the release date on track for Left 4 Dead 2. Can the boycott please disband now? Anyway, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games for further news, info and updates regarding all things gaming. |
