Today Sega revealed the release dates for Platinum Games' third-person shooter Vanquish. They apparently think the new IP can hang with the big dogs as it's going to hit stores right in the middle of the holiday season.

Vanquish will make its debut in North America on October 19th. The Japanese release will follow on October 21st. Europe's bringing up the rear with a launch on the 22nd.

GameStop and select European retailers will provide vouchers for exclusive DLC to pre-order customers. The DLC is a "Tri-Weapon pack" that can be downloaded through PSN and Xbox Live on day one. It unlocks a Boost Machine Gun, Anti-Armor Pistol, and Laser Cannon for the game. Screenshots of these weapons are below.
