Xbox Live Arcade is finally receiving one of the most under-appreciated Sega Saturn games out there: Virtual-On. The game is a quasi-remake with a name change and a few extra features, including an all new online multiplayer mode.
Titled Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangrem, the game will be a re-visualized take on the original arcade title. Mainly the game is receiving an HD-overhaul and the new option of being able to versus opponents online, via Xbox Live. For those of you who have no idea what Virtual-On is all about and why this game deserves a slot in the line-up of XBLA titles for this year, just know that before there was Dynasty Warriors: Gundam there was Virtual-On. And the latter was an intense one-on-one battle game that featured large robots with devastating attacks that took place in 3D arenas. It was a really cool game back in the day and it’s good to see that Sega hasn’t completely forgotten about some of their more under-rated, but higher quality titles. Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangrem will be available on April 29th, exclusively for the Xbox Live Arcade. For more information you can visit the Official Sega Website or drop by the Wiki page for Virtual-On, which lays out a lot of the cool details from the series.
