WWE 13 Roster Announced, DLC Packs Will Add More

This weekend THQ announced what WWE superstars will be included in WWE 13 on launch. The game's roster features dozens of both current and former greats.

WWE 13 has a story mode that focuses on the Attitude Era, the hey-day of the organization that ran from roughly 1997 to 2002. In this story mode, players will relive many of the pivotal moments from this era including the rise of D-Generation X and the feud between Mr. McMahon and Stone Cold. In order to faithfully recreate the Attitude days, they had to bring back many stars who have since moved on. The roster list below (via Bleacher Report) is broken into two categories to reflect this:

There's some overlap in the lists, because certain wrestlers from the Attitude Era are still active today. These wrestlers will no doubt have costumes from each era available for use in the game. Hopefully the developers include their different entrances as well.

While looking through the names, you probably spotted a few favorites missing. I'm hearing a lot of people complaining about a lack of Ryback, for starters. WWE 13 creative director Cory Ledesma confirmed via Twitter that the gaps in the roster will be filled in by DLC. Details on downloadable content, which will feature a mix of current superstars, divas, and Attitude Era stars, will be announced later in the year.

Some wrestlers, no matter how popular, won't make the cut though. For example, a star who has since signed on with a rival wrestling organization may skip the game. That might explain why the Hardy Boyz, who later signed with TNA, aren't on the roster.
